Michelle Ammerer is a graduate in medicine from The University of Western Australia and trained in cardiology at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, subsequently completing her interventional fellowship at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston.

In addition to all areas of adult cardiology, Michelle has a special interest in early identification and prevention of coronary artery disease, chest pain management and heart disease in Women. Michelle has undertaken sub-speciality training as an interventional cardiologist with skills in coronary angiography, angioplasty and stenting.

Committed to reducing the burden of ischemic heart disease in WA, Michelle runs a specific CardioVascular Clinic. Designed for patients at risk of coronary artery disease who wish to understand their personal risk and those who are experiencing potential symptoms of ischemic heart disease. These clinics combine the latest diagnostics techniques with cardiology consultation.

Michelle consults with Western Cardiology at Carine, Midland and Subiaco. She is also an interventional cardiologist at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, and a Fellow of both the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand.

Michelle was the winner of the 2008 40Under40 competition, recognising her considerable contribution to the field of cardiology and the community. She was on the WA board of the National Heart Foundation for 14 years and contributes to the education of medical students at UWA, Notre Dame and Curtin University through clinical teaching.
