Luigi D’Orsogna is a graduate of the University of Western Australia. He trained in paediatrics at the Children’s Hospital in Vancouver, Canada, and Princess Margaret Hospital for Children (PMH) in Western Australia.

Thereafter, he completed a Fellowship in Paediatric Cardiology at the Children’s Hospital in Boston and the Harvard Medical School where he developed a special interest in fetal cardiology and interventional cardiac catheterisation procedures for congenital heart disease.

He subsequently established the Fetal Cardiac Service at King Edward Memorial Hospital for Women (KEMH) and the first interventional cardiac catheterisation program for children in Western Australia at PMH. He has been associated with both KEMH and PMH for over 30 years, and more recently the Perth Children’s Hospital.

Currently, he is a visiting cardiologist to the St John of God Health Care in Subiaco, Midland and Bunbury. He consults in private practice at Western Cardiology for all aspects of paediatric cardiology including congenital and acquired heart disease of childhood, arrhythmia and echocardiography.
